Exhibition Curators:

Elizabeth Adams (Librarian, University College):

Elizabeth Adams has worked as College Librarian at University College since September 2011. She has extensive experience working as an Early Printed Book cataloguer and curating exhibitions and displays to promote library collections.

Daryl Green (former Librarian, Magdalen College):

Daryl Green worked as Fellow Librarian at Magdalen College until February 2020. During his time at Magdalen, he curated a number of successful exhibitions. He is passionate about highlighting special collections to wider audiences. During his time at Magdalen, he regularly hosted tutorial seminar groups in in the Old Library working on a variety of topics such as 17th and 18th century literature, Oscar Wilde, medieval materiality, and the history of engineering and science. Since March 2020, he has worked as Head of Special Collections at the University of Edinburgh.

Michèle Mendelssohn (Professor of English and American Literature, Mansfield College, Oxford):

Michèle Mendelssohn is Professor of English and American Literature at Mansfield College. Her research ranges from the late 19th century to the present day and covers both sides of the Atlantic. She has published widely on Victorian literature, 20th century cultural history, and contemporary writing and recently published “Making Oscar Wilde”, an acclaimed biography of Wilde’s life that formed the basis of the Making History exhibition.

William Shire (Assistant Librarian, Magdalen College):

Will joined Magdalen College in August 2019 and started working to support the library’s programme of exhibitions straight away. As he is passionate about using technology to support the library’s exhibition and event programmes, he very much enjoyed working on this online exhibition, For Making History, Will was in charge of designing and editing the website, making sure that the exhibition worked in an online context. Additionally, he managed the filming for the interviews, using Adobe software to edit the raw footage and introduce effects.
